Optical Prism
Optical Elements
The pentagonal prism is a five-sided prism with four polished surfaces. Two of these surfaces are reflective surfaces, and the other two are the incident and exit surfaces. The reflective surfaces of the pentagonal prism are coated with a reflective film and painted with black paint for protection. The pentagonal prism can deflect the light by 90° without any image plane rotation or specular reflection, and the 90° deflection will not change due to the different positions of the prism, so it is very convenient for assembly. The pentagonal prism is widely used in leveling instruments and rangefinders, alignment and optical molds, etc., and can also be used in single-lens reflex cameras. The reflective surface of this prism must be coated with a metal or dielectric reflective coating.
