Compared with LiNbO3 crystals, MgO:LiNbO3 crystals have unique advantages in the applications of non-critical phase matching (NCPM) frequency doubling, mixing, and optical parametric oscillation in Nd-doped lasers. MgO:LiNbO3 crystals can achieve frequency doubling efficiencies of over 65% and 45% respectively in pulsed Nd:YAG lasers and continuous Nd:YAG lasers. MgO:LiNbO3 crystals are widely used in optical parametric oscillation (OPO), optical parametric amplification (OPA), quasi-phase matching, and integrated optical waveguides.
